When Israel Came Out of Egypt
1When Israel came out of Egypt
and the house of Jacob from a people with a strange language,
2Judah became his sanctuary,
Israel became his kingdom.
3The sea saw and fled.
The Jordan turned back.
4The mountains skipped like rams,
the hills like lambs.
5What happened, O sea, that you fled,
O Jordan, that you turned back,
6O mountains, that you skipped like rams,
you hills, like lambs?
7Tremble in the presence of the Lord, O earth.
Tremble in the presence of the God of Jacob.
8He turned the rock into a pool of water.
He turned flint into springs of water.
